In the Molisan dialect, they are called “Mëscotte c’u nasprë.” These are traditional sweet taralli from Molise, made with a high percentage of fresh Category A eggs and “nasprati” by hand. Naspro is a glaze made of sugar, water, and lemon. This light and protein-rich biscuit was originally prepared during Easter and weddings as a gift from the bride.
Ingredients: Soft WHEAT flour, fresh Category A EGGS 19%, sugar, lard, high-oleic sunflower oil, butter (MILK), leavening agents: ammonium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, salt, flavors. Sugar glaze 40% (sugar, egg white).
Contains WHEAT, EGGS, MILK. May contain traces of SOY, NUTS and SESAME.
Store in a cool, dry place away from heat sources. Do not expose to the sun and avoid
temperature changes.
